So excited! Can't wait to see him playing in this movie :)
I heard him playing a pap, is that true?

The best news. This should blow our minds. Rob should blow us all away with his performance as one of the many paparazzi parasites who follow him around relentlessly. No need for research, he just needs to step out of his house and cameras are flashing. So excited.

He has so far so much time between shootings. If I had this time between two tax-returns...
I only hope, he can cut time to learn acting (don't misunderstand me, i love him, but he could use practice; he didn't attend acting-school only acting-workshop), to write, to play piano, violin, his trumpet (giggles) etc...
And i'm excited for his films - ok not to much for the army-film, but for this and the Queen..., and the Hold...

@twmmy, I think he'll be practising alright. you know, his co-stars always said that he's always really serious when it comes to his work. :)

Remember the story when he said in an interview that he almost got kicked out of Twilight for being too serious? I thought that was a kind of funny. :D

Yeah, but sometimes he is a bit stiff/rigid in films. He can play with his face, his eyes, even with his body, bit he can't do this degagé/loose while acting, only during reports. He must learn play, and i know, he knows it too. he said he must learn. and he has good actors to play with, he can learn. but sometimes needs professional teachers. it's not problem for him, he did it during Bel Ami. and it worth had worth the time.

Great news. David Cronenberg is a fantastic director and Rob can only benefit from working with him again.

Hopefully he can keep working with talented people to grow as an actor. Cronenberg is known for letting is actors give a lot of input so maybe he'll be comfortable enough this time to bounce ideas off him and pick up directing pointers. I have a feeling he'll take on directing one day.

I'd love to see Rob in comedy/drama comedy movie. I bet it would be hilarious... Rob's a funny man, he just have to be himself. :D

Uhh, ma and my daughter yesterday watched Cronenberg's Shiver. My son said us till he studies we can watch some wild Cronenberg. Saw. Wild... not really my taste, but good.
He is the director who is forward the others.
Me and my family loved Cosmopolis.
I hope this will be good :)
I have no intention to work today. It's only worse when we had long week-end...

@twmmy, I agree he needs more seasoning as an actor, I have often thought he could benefit by hiring an acting coach for roles or to master techniques in acting. He is improving and I believe filming these diverse roles will assist him as well. Working with Cronenberg who had told him to stop acting and just envelop the character that is when he truly shines in Cosmopolis and he was rewarded with the best reviews of his career. He needed that to gain confidence in his ability to film different characters and to meet these challenges, that is what great actors do, he is not great yet IMO, but he will get there I just feel it in my bones. As I await that day which could be this year, I can enjoy the films he is filming as he reaches the success of a great actor because he has already reached superstardom for being a heartthrob.

Great news, can't wait til he starts filming and some of it will be filmed in LA.

He really did shine in Cosmopolis, especially in the last scene with Paul Giamoti. The story was strange, but Rob really brought such emotion to that character. I didnt think I would like it as much as I did. I felt the same way about Little Ashes. I didn't think I would like it at all, and I actually loved it. Rob really made me feel for this very eccentric man.

Wooooooooohooooooooooooo!!!!!... :D... Mark the date, mark the date... The excess of euphoria might slightly be related to the fact that I'm -hopefully- be around Toronto in early July... And considering what I'll be doing... ^.^... Who knows, maybe I'll get to meet him... :P

So, Pattinson has one whole month to grow as actor and surprise everyone when they begin filming... There's nothing lined up for June, right, people?...
Maybe he could befriend a pap... give him some "exclusive pics" if he tells him all the key points of being a pap, no?...

@Ashlie ... AGREEEEE !!!!!!!!!!... Sorry... *pouts*... It's just that Rob and directing always gets me tingly... When I read somewhere that he was writing a script, God knows I woke up the whole neighbourhood with my "YES"... :P

@twmmy ... Yeah, agree with you completely... Hope he gets the time to learn some acting techniques, music, body expression, history of art... I mean, there are lots of things he can put in him to better his performance... Not just say there playing cool and thinking he has it all... There are many who have walked the acting road, and you need a Map to it...

@iluvthemovies ... "As I await that day, which could be this year [...]" - Weeee! I know! 2013 is looking quite the turning point for him...- "[...] I can enjoy the films he is filming as he reaches the success of a great actor, because he has already reached superstardom for being a heartthob." - Yup, and there is exactly where the difference lays...

All the fuzz about him could go away as quickly as it came, it's only up to him to take the best out of it all...
My grandmother used to tell me when I was little: You might grow up like a palm, but be sure to not fall like a coconut...
There are countless artist who get famous for something they where involved in out of luck, but do not have the capabilities needed to profit that and grow up with both their feet on the ground... Robert is going the right way, putting rocks to make his road much more secure... And one of those rocks is Cronenberg...
Not even to mention that they both are in love with each other... LOL... I'm sure he has him on speed dial... XD

I loved Cosmopolis and thought he did a fantastic job. I'm a Cronenberg fan and respect how he directs but I honestly think he dropped the ball a little on Cosmopolis for himself, Rob, and the fans.

The book was really good. I read it back when it was released years ago and enjoyed it. When I saw that Rob was doing it I reread it to get the feel and was excited to see what he would do with Eric.

I felt what could have made all the difference was a few well timed voiceovers from Rob giving you insight into his mind. Without them you're stuck wondering what's going on from just the dialogue. So much of the book was Eric's thoughts, which were getting crazier by the hour.

Without his incessant inner chatter available to the viewer, Rob's performance doesn't make as much sense nor does the movie itself. That's why I think a lot of the reviews weren't as effusive.

But honestly, if you read the book, Rob was scary good.

Like everyone I'm so thrilled to know that Rob will be starting to work on this latest collaboration with David in July...and how ironic that he will be playing the role of a paparazzi lol:)..ITA..Iluvthemovies...regarding research and preping for the role as you said he only has to step outside his door lol:)..*Waves* to Lisa,Haxy&nimet:)

@Margarita, your grandmother is a wise woman, yes I believe Rob is doing the right thing by filming smaller parts that he can learn and challenge his acting skills that prepare him to be a better actor and not just another pretty face.

@Pyquerette, I did read the book and I did like it, but was not as impressed with it like I wanted to be. I read that this book was reviewed and it met with moderate critical reviews it was not outstanding as some of his other novels. Yes I do agree that David's approach to the book could have different, it may have met with more outstanding reviews and better box-office sales.

@ Susan, I think acting wise, four movies for me showcase Rob's range, Little Ashes, How to Be, Remember Me, and Cosmopolis. I do enjoy his other films, but these four for me personally just showcase his charisma and acting talent. It would be fun to see others give their opinion as to what films that Rob has filmed, they consider his best performance or pefromances.

Hi twilightnan, a happy wave and shout-out to you.

@iluvthemovies, I do love Little Ashes and Cosmopolis too. I think in Twilight sometimes you still got to see Rob in Edward, but doesn't mean that I dislike it, I love Twilight, but you know. But in these two movie, I think Rob was becoming someone else way beyond himself. He's like a completely different person. He also said himself in interview that he was surprised when he saw Cosmopolis coz he can't recognize himself in the movie.

I'm so excited that he make another movie with David coz you can that like Margarita said they love each other, and that I think they make a really great pack.

*waves back* @tiwilightnan. ;)

Hi Haxy, I loved the first Twilight movie, but after that small Indie, the rest of the saga was so convuluted for me. I know so many love the saga and I respect their love of it, unfortunately it was not my cup of tea. However, thus it was this role that brought him fame that now can afford him choices, which before Twilight, we may never have known him outside of Harry Potter. So a big thank you to Catherine and Kristin for selecting him for the part.

Iluvthemovies, The first Twilight movie was my favorite too. I don't know, it was just like genuine. Yeah, Thanks to both of them Catherine and Kristen for selecting him and keep supporting him while lots of fans of the book at that time was objected about him playing Edward. I don't know if you guys had the same thoughts but when I first read Twilight book, I was just like Oh man, Rob is really Edward, I mean physically, I think Edward's physical describtion in the book was like totally similar to Rob. Even his teeth in reality seems sharp. oh, Really LOVE those teeth! <3

For me, favourites are the first twilight, WFE and Remember me. I haven't seen Little ashes yet.

Mine, my favourites are... Little Ashes, How to Be, and I love me some Cedric... but that might not be very objective; I loved that movie for another reason, Robert is a plus... :P
And I haven't "finished" watching Cosmopolis, so... but I liked the 47 min I saw... :)
